Harry P. Leu Gardens lists current admission, seasonal hours, and special-event exceptions on its visitor page. The page currently notes a temporary closure of the Historic Leu House Museum; do not make a house tour the centerpiece without rechecking.
Give the walk a simple purpose
Invite each person to look for a color, leaf shape, or plant detail. A small discovery game gives children something to do without turning the walk into a race.
Choose a manageable route and leave time for breaks. Check the forecast and pack for an outdoor visit. If the weather changes, it is reasonable to shorten the plan rather than force a full afternoon.
Confirm your departure details
Check the final admission time as well as the closing time. Special evening events may require separate admission, and parts of the garden can have limited access. The official page is the place to check the current visit conditions and any advertised free days.
Plan for the current fall schedule
The visitor page lists 9 a.m.–5 p.m. hours from September 8 through November 18, 2026, with final entry at 4 p.m. October 17 has an earlier 4 p.m. close and 3 p.m. last entry. General admission is currently $15 for adults and $10 for ages 4–17; children under 4 enter free.
Leu Gardens says it does not accept cash. Bring an accepted payment method, and treat the temporary house-museum closure notice at the top of its page as the current guidance even though routine tour hours also appear farther down.
